Huge cave and unexpectedly amazing. The evolution of Neaderthals occurred in this cave. The tour has a French and English version but they are at different times and it's 5 euros but otherwise, the site is actually free. The tour features projections in the cave with the stories of our origins. There's also a simulation before entering the cave that explains the sea level changes and sediment deposits over the ages. The whole area has information on various hominids, flora, and fauna. There's also a little exhibition behind the gift shop. It can be very hot outside but they were kind enough to provide water for people! Also, the gift shop is well stocked with interesting goods and they wrap them up very nicely if it's a gift. Great place. I recommend.
Wonderful place, totally recommend, it's plenty of historical work behind it. And the entrance is free )
Nice tour, even though the story being read was a bit dry. Very cool to be able to visit a prehistoric cave/grotto. Our almost four year old loved the light show at the end of the presentation. The staff was very nice.
Shows are every 30 minutes. Show up a bit before the hour for an English language show or a bit before the :30 mark for a French language show.
There is no cost to enter.
Lovely setting in a garden overlooking the sea. A small cave but very well explained and very interesting. The video animation inside the cave was so realistic you felt you were with real cave dwellers! Don’t miss the explanation video in the visitor center.
Really excellent and fascinating. Audio tour is available in English and shows the wonders of the cave in a fun way!
Orson was fantastic and really made sure I enjoyed my visit, I hope he gets a raise!!!!
A disappointment to us - Despite the website saying you were able to visit for a self guided tour, on arrival we were informed that to enter we must join a tour. We'd have happily paid an entry fee, but certainly didn't want a tour guide!
Most interesting prehistoric cave, with great archeological importance. Very well displayed with entertaining audiovisual presentation (with children will love as well).
Mind the limited opening hours in off-season. Located at walking distance from the Port Lympia tramway station.
At first I thought it would be boring, but it's really worth it! Really impressed with the presentation technology. Also the tour is free and every 30min for one language (FR or EN, but only one language at a time)
